As far as we know, Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground is the only full service campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We are located just south of Fancy Gap, Virginia close to the Virginia-North Carolina line. We specialize in giving our guests a place to unplug, refresh and relax with family and friends. With RV sites, camping cabins, tents sites and a motel, everyone can find a place to stay and find lots to do./ or choose to do nothing at all.
Relax
Relaxing is the number one activity at Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground. The RV and tent sites have space for camping chairs and picnic tables to spread out the snacks. Three of our sites have decks that provide additional outdoor space to cook, play games, watch the stars or soak up the sun. The motel and cabins have porches with seating to kick back and enjoy the view of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the surrounding mountains.
At night, fire up one of our charcoal grills for your favorite camping meal. We have charcoal, lighter fluid, igniters and matches in the store. To enhance your evening even further, pick up some firewood, a fire starter or a s’mores kit from the store. Enjoy other treats like peanuts or candy. If you’ve forgotten an item or need a souvenir of your time on the Blue Ridge Parkway, check with us and see if we have what you need in the store.
Trails
We have walking trails through our woods. Even though the trails aren’t long, the hills give you a good workout. The blue trail goes around the pond to the swing near the motel road. Take the red trail to the back of the campground where a small creek crosses. The white and green trails cross the top of the woods. No matter which trail you take, look for signs of wildlife like deer, fox or turkey.
In season, pick your fill of peaches or apples from our orchards. Our green space provides plenty of room for football, baseball or soccer. Don’t forget to break out the corn hole or take a turn at our horseshoe pit by the RV area. Pack up the bikes. Kids can ride their bicycles on the campground. We do ask that they were a helmet.
Nearby
You can wander up to the overlook about hundred yards south of the campground and motel. There, you can take in the view of Mt. Airy and the North Carolina Piedmont below. Meander down the gravel road on the other side of the Parkway passing by farms all set against rolling hills and the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are several places to find hiking trails close by. Games and Books
Check with us in the office/store to borrow your favorite board game or outdoor game like corn hole. Look for a gift made by local artisans, pick up a Blue Ridge Parkway souvenir or a campground keepsake.
