Mabry Mill at milepost 176 is one of the most photographed locations on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The grist mill, which is operated by the National Park Service, is open for visitors from Memorial Day through the beginning of November.
The mill originally operated in the early 1900’s. Flour is still ground there, and bags can be purchased in the gift shop. Live demonstrations of blacksmithing and Appalachian crafts are held regularly.
The restaurant at Mabry Mill is well-known for its pancakes as well as traditional, Southern meals. On Sundays, enjoy free concerts by local Blue Grass musicians.
