Take I-77 north to exit 14 and follow Highway 58/Carrolton Pike to Woodlawn. If you’re heading to Galax, you’ll pass through Woodlawn on your way.
In Woodlawn near the I-77 interchange, stop at the Southwest Farmers Market and Carroll County Visitor’s Center. The market is filled with locally sourced fruits, vegetables, snacks and treats. The Visitor Center has information about everything there is to do and see in Carroll County. You’ll also find a selection of fast food and local eateries close to the Farmers Market and visitor’s center.
As you stay on Hwy 58/Carrolton Pike travelling toward Galax, there is an urgent care, gas stations and bargain stores. You’ll also reach Harmon’s Western Wear. The store sells all of the top brands in clothing, boots and accessories men, women and children want. Harmon’s has a museum that will give you historic insight into the area. Enjoy seeing rare items like a collection of arrow heads and Native American artifacts as well as items from the Baldwin-Felts Detective Agency.
If you ‘d like time on the New River, Woodlawn, off Carrolton Pike, has a public boat access and an access point to the New River Trail that will take you to Chestnut Creek Falls.
