The Blue Ridge Music Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway is the place to experience blue grass music. The center is just 10 miles south of Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground at milepost 213 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. In 2024, the center is open Thursday to Monday from May 2 to May 20. Starting May 23, the center opens daily until closing for the season on October 31.

A visit to the American Music Museum illustrates how blue grass music grew out of the hills and hollers of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Take in the sounds of blue grass daily from 12 to 3 pm during the free Midday Mountain Music concerts. The afternoon concerts are held with local musicians in the breeze way. If you are a musician, bring your instrument and join in.
