RV camping on the Blue Ridge Parkway surrounds you with the beauty and tranquility of rolling hills, woods and mountains. We also have tent sites, cabins and a motel. So, invite your friends and family to join you along the Blue Ridge Parkway until November 3.

RV Camping on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Our thirteen, full-hook-up sites accommodate up to 50 feet. Four pull-through and nine back-in sites each have water, sewer, electric (110/30/50), fire rings and picnic tables. Three of our back-in sites, 9, 11, and 13, have decks. Sites are gravel, except for grass-covered 3 and 4. Our sites are also level, but, because we’re in the mountains, our campground is hilly. The RV area is surrounded by woods with walking trails, grass and an apple orchard. The bathhouse with five, private bathrooms and utility sinks is nearby too.

RV sites 8 and 9 are best for large, tri-axle fifth-wheels. If these sites are not available, call before booking. Our campground is hilly with roads that curve. These designated sites minimize turns, making it easier for tri-axels to enter and exist.

Please note that rates are based on an occupancy of 4 people. Additional people are $5 per person, per day.

If you are planning to sleep in your car (i.e. mini-van, SUV or sedan), tent site 14, our only drive-in tent space, is another option. Fancy Gap Cabins and Camground RV pull thru

Our four pull-through sites line the top of a hill. Guests have the advantage of enjoying the sunrise and sunset.

RV1 (50 ft) is best for travelers with large rigs who don’t want to unhitch.

Small campers and tow vehicles less than 35 ft fit in RV 2.

Grass sites 3 and 4 are for pop ups, vans, truck campers or motorhomes less than 30 ft.

Nine, gravel back-in sites handle 30 to 50 ft. Travel trailers and 5th wheels will find 4-wheel high helpful when backing in, but it’s not required.

A retaining wall gives 5 (30 ft) more privacy, but with grass, apple trees and woods nearby nature abounds.

RV 6 (40 ft) has grass and the apple orchard behind it for extra space to relax and play.

RV8 (46 ft) is bordered by woods. Four-wheel drive high is recommended for travel trailers and fifth wheels (not motorhomes). The best site for tri-axle, fifth-wheels.

A deck at RV9 (50 ft.) extends the outdoor living space bringing guests closer to the woods and providing more space for fires, cooking and time together. This site is, along with 8, is best for tri-axle, fifth-wheels.

Central in the RV area, 10 (40 ft) has access to everything, including trailheads.

The deck at RV 11 (40 ft) gives guests more room to enjoy the outdoors and each other.

Larger motorhomes and fifth wheels often occupy 12 (40 ft).

A shaded deck, grassy area and 45 ft make 13 a favorite.

FAQ’s

Office/Store Hours

Our office/store is open Sunday through Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm. Fridays and Saturdays closing time is 7 pm. The owners live on site and answer the phone for questions and reservations until 9 pm daily.

Guests checking in after the office is closed will find all of their information waiting for them in the information box right outside our office door in an envelope with their name on it.

Between 9 pm and 9 am, all callers must a leave a message. The owners will respond to registered guests staying on site immediately. All others will receive a return call the next morning after the office opens at 9 am.

Rates, Charges and Cancellations

Rates

Our base rate for standard full hook up sites is $45 per night. For sites with decks, the base rate is $50 per night. Virginia state sales tax, a $3.50 booking fee per unit reserved plus a credit card processing fee are added to each reservation. Holiday rates are higher.

Rates for RV sites are based on a 4 person occupancy. Extra people are $5 per person, per night. Pet are welcome. There are no pet fees for RV reservations.

Cancellations and Refunds

If you call to cancel more than 72 hours before the morning of your arrival then you receive your deposit back minus an 8% percent cancellation fee. The minimum fee is $5.

Guests forfeit deposits and any other monies paid when canceling within 72 hours of the day they arrive and when they depart early for any reason (including illness or inclement weather).

Refunds are not given for reservations made and cancelled on the day of arrival.

No shows are charged their entire balance due.

We’re happy to reschedule. So, please call if you have questions or need to make a change to your reservation.

Check In and Out

Check in is 2 pm, and check out is 11 am.

Check in

The office/store is open Sunday through Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm. Fridays and Saturdays closing time is 7 pm. All guests and visitors must check in at the office when arriving.

Late Arrivals

Guests checking in after the office is closed will find all of their information in an envelope with their name on it waiting for them in the box right outside the office door.

Early Check In

If you arrive before 2 pm (that means 1:59 or earlier) there is a $10 early check in fee. If you would like early check in, call ahead to see if it is available. Campers cannot check in before noon. If you arrive before noon, park at the nearby overlook since we do not have overflow parking for RVs.

Late Check Out

Guests must request a late check out, which is 1 pm. It is not always available. The fee is $10. Guests staying after 1 pm will be charged for another night’s stay.

Holidays - Rates and Minimum Night Stays

Rates for standard, full hook up RV sites on holidays in 2024 (Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day) are $55.00 per night plus tax and fees. Sites with decks are $5 more per night. There is a 2-night minimum stay for Memorial Day weekend and July 4, and three-night minimum stay on Labor Day weekend. There is no refund for cancellations.

Weekly and Seasonal Stays

Seasonal Reservations

We are a short-term campground and do not host seasonal RV campers. Three weeks is the maximum length of stay in our RV area.

Weekly Stays

Our weekly rate for standard sites is $270 plus taxes and fees. For sites with decks, the weekly rate is $300 plus taxes and fees. When you book a week you pay for six nights and get one free.

Pets

We are pet friendly. There is no pet fee in the RV area. Owners must keep their pets on a leash and under control as well as clean up after them. Please do not leave them unattended inside or outside of your RV.

Directions

Please Follow These Directions

Take exit I-77, exit 8 in Virginia following signs to Highway 52/Fancy Gap.

Turn right at the stop sign with a blinking light going south on Highway 52.

Go a half mile, turn right after the Amoco Station and Lakeview Restaurant at the brown Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) sign.

At the next stop sign, turn right going south on the BRP.

Travel 3.5 miles. You’ll see our LOVE sign, camping cabins and lighted sign as you approach. Turn left after the sign for the Fancy Gap Ranger’s office and drive straight ahead. Please stop at the office and check in.

Please Don’t

Don’t take I-77, exit 1. Also, don’t let your GPS lead you off the BRP.

Alternate Routes

Take Highway 52 north out of Winston-Salem, NC to the BRP South in Fancy Gap. If you’re on the BRP, we’re between mileposts 202 and 203 next to the Fancy Gap Ranger’s office.

Discounts

Military

Current and retired military receive a 10 percent discount with proper identification at check in.

Book a Week

Book seven nights and pay for six.

Groups

Groups of five or more reservations of any combination of RV, tent, cabin or motel receive a 10 percent discount.

Call us at 276-730-7154 to apply discounts. Discounts are applied at check-in for online reservations.

Smoking and Drinking

Smoking and Vaping

Smoking of any substance or vaping is not allowed inside campground buildings, including the motel. Violators will be fined $250.

Refrain from throwing butts and other garbage on the ground. Use the provided receptacles and trash cans.

Alcohol

Guests of legal age who do not disturb others are allowed to drink alcoholic beverages at Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground. Underage drinking or disturbing other guests because of drinking to excess will result in eviction from the campground without a refund.

Back Flow Preventers

As required by state law, the hydrants at each RV site have a back flow preventor attached to the faucet. This is not a pressure regulator. Please do not remove it when you attach your water hose or inadvertently take the back flow preventer when you detach your water hose. There is a $20 fee for missing back flow preventers. If your hydrant does not have a back flow preventer when you check in, please contact the office at 276-730-7154 right away.

Parking Fee for Extra Vehicles

Because of our small size, each reservation includes parking for 2 vehicles. To park more than 2 vehicles, there is a $5 fee per vehicle. This does not include trailers. If you are towing a trailer, please let us know ahead of time. We do have alternate spaces for trailers since many times they do not fit in designated parking areas. Damages

Guests are responsible for repaying the campground/motel owners for the cost of repairs or replacement when property is damaged. Examples of damage include but are not limited to water hydrants, electrical boxes and outlets, walls, grass, roads, bedding and towels.
