If you’re travelling our way between November 2024 and March 2025, call 276-730-7154 ahead of time to see about boondocking for fully contained RVs and, starting in March, stays in our camping cabins and tent sites. Our motel remains closed all winter. Please note that winter camping on the Blue Ridge Parkway is available only if:
- The parkway is open.
- The roads on our campground are safe and not covered with ice and snow.
- The owners are onsite. Remember, winter is our time to rest, relax and take vacations.
Fully Contained RVs $26.33 per night (includes tax)
Call 276-730-7154 to let us know that you’d like to stay. No deposit is necessary. Pay upon arrival. In the winter, we have electric, sewer and Wi-Fi for fully contained RVs. Since the bath house and water hydrants are not available, campers must bring water and have their own bathroom to stay with us during the winter months. We don’t allow people to sleep in their cars during the winter. Plus, the temperatures are too low at night, and we don’t have bathroom facilities available.
Winter in the Cabins or Tent Sites
Starting in late February until we open for the season on April 1, we have tent sites and cabins open for camping die-hards who are not dissuaded by a little cold weather. The cost per night is reduced to $50 for cabins and $15 for tent sites. You must call ahead to check availability and make your reservation.
Bring water because our water system will not be operational. There will be port-a-jons available.
Cabins and Tents Include
The cabins include floor heaters, and we have plenty of blankets and quilts. That means you don’t have to worry about keeping warm.
Each one-room cabin includes a queen size bed with all of your bedding, either a futon or bunk beds as well as a mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and coffee cups, creamer and sugar. There is also hot chocolate and hot tea bags. Outside, enjoy the porch with chairs, charcoal grills and fire rings. We have firewood, fire starters, matches, lighters and s’mores kits available in our store.
Tent sites have 110 outlets so you can plug in a heater. There is free Wi-Fi, fire rings, picnic tables and charcoal grills.
