    Orchards

December 17, 2019 Posted by FGCCadmin Campground, Food No Comments

Driving around Fancy Gap, you’ll find numerous produce stands along the roads where you can buy the freshest fruist and vegetables. Click here to learn more about local farmers markets in the area.

    Campground Orchards

If you’d like to pick your own fresh fruit, the campground has peach and apple orchards. Registered guests can pick as much as they want. Peaches are in season late in August and apples in the fall. Please keep in mind that we do not spray or treat our fruit trees. They are as organic as you can get.

    Local Orchards

There are a number of commercial orchards in the area as well. Dawson’s Orchard is the closest to the campground. They will set appointments for your family to pick peaches, apples and other fruits. Check out their Facebook page to keep up with what is in season and to send them a message about setting up a time to pick. Other orchards in the area include include Levering, Ayers and Miss Angel’s. You do need to call ahead to see if they are offering self-pick and to schedule a day and time.

When you visit the area to pick your fresh fruit, book a stay with us and make a vacation of it.
