Fancy Gap is off of I-77, exit 8. Go one direction off I-77 to visit a fabric and home decor outlet. Go the other way toward the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and you’ll find a surprising variety of crafts, clothes, food, ceramics and other gifts and souvenirs.
Shopping
You don’t want to miss any of these locally owned and operated shops:
Blue Ridge Arts Center – ceramics, painted barn squares, fused glass, all made by Fancy Gap artists. Classes are offered as well.
Foggy Mountain Variety Shop – gifts, crafts, home decor, handmade wreaths and lots more all at the intersection of Hwy 52 and Chances Creek Rd.
Fancy Gap Antiques and Collectables – The store located on Hwy 52 is now closed, but there are new owners. We’ll see soon what they have in store for the store.
Fancy Gap Dress Shop – Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance, find a large selection of clothes, shoes, jewelry and accessories.
Frontera Roots Jewelry and Clothing – Right beyond the stone bridge, boho chic and mountain stylish clothes and accessories await you. You’ll also find snacks, specialty roasted coffee, t-shirts, gifts and antiques.
Calamity Jane’s Garden and Mercantile – From Frontera Roots, walk right over to browse the western-themed selection of clothes, gifts, plants and garden art.
The Nest and Hive Shoppe – Just down from Calamity Jane’s, explore a treasure trove of clothing, gifts and antiques
Carolyn’s Crafts and Gifts – Next to the Nest and Hive, drop in this friendly place that is just as the name says.
Fancy Gap Pottery and Fabric Outlet – Pottery, fabric, garden and home decor just off I-77.
Supplies
If you need groceries, drinks (including beer) and other supplies, stop in at the Amoco or Dollar General on Hwy 52 in Fancy Gap. Food Lion is located in Hillsville, north about ten miles on Hwy 52.
RVers looking for specific items for your rig, go to Jeff Johnson RV in Woodlawn or Walmart in Galax.
Restaurants
When you’re hungry, try the:
Lakeview Restaurant, which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in a home-cooked, affordable style.
The Gap Deli, which is on Hwy 52 just south of the stone bridge on the left, has home made soups, salads, sweets and a range of sandwiches. They do have vegetarian options.
Fancy Gap Country Store is across the street from the deli. You’ll find all kinds of BBQ treats from pork to brisket to ribs and your favorite sides and ice cream treats to go with them.
The Pit Stop Pasta & Grill, near I-77, is the place for pizza, burgers, pasta and salads as well as hand-dipped ice cream. The Pit Stop will deliver to the campground and motel for a fee.
Places to Stay
Our campground and motel is 3.5 miles south of Fancy Gap on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stay with us in your RV, cozy up in a camping cabin, relax at our motel or pitch your tent. No matter how you stay, you’ll be in the perfect place to enjoy Fancy Gap, the great outdoors along the Blue Ridge Parkway and all there is to do and see in southwest Virginia.
